From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The following is Mr. Bob glombs' pilot statement of the facts for this incident: "I was the pilot flying my navion aircraft, N4202K, at Sinton San Patricio County Airport on Friday, August 29, 2003, at approximately 11:00 a.m. the sky conditions were 3,000 broken, winds were calm. I was on a maintenance flight around and near the airport checking oil temperature. I intended to land and leave for work. I made my approach and all seemed normal. On short final I realized I was too fast. I pulled back the power and leveled off to bleed off airspeed. I touched down and the prop struck the runway shearing both blades. I then realized I had made a wheels up landing. The aircraft came to rest on the right side of the runway about 1800' down. I cut all switches and began to exit. Wayne molloy of skypark aviation responded to the scene and asked if I were all right. I told him I was fine. I was due to leave for work and jeff (janik A&P mechanic at the airport) said they would get the aircraft off the runway and back to my hangar. I called back from home and jeff said that they put a tube in the front tire and towed it to my hangar."
