From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The flight was conducted at 3,000 feet when the pilot noticed that the engine began to run rough as if one cylinder was not working. Engine continually got rougher and finally quit. Pilot tried to restart unsuccessfully. Pilot elected to land in freshly picked and turned cornfield. Aircraft traveled less then 100 feet after touching down. Damage to nose gear, prop, and right wingtip. The onsite investigation indicated that this is an incident. The carburetor icing chart from transport Canada indicates that with the given temperature and dew point, the conditions put the aircraft in the moderate icing-cruise power or serious icing-descent power areas.
