From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was on an instrument flight rules (IFR) flight plan from bedford/laurence g. hanscom field (bed) to Rockland/Knox County Regional (rkd). After executing the straight-in ILS to runway 13, the pilot transitioned to visual conditions at the decision height. The weather was near "minimums" but he stated that he had the runway environment and runway lights at that time. After landing on the runway, he entered a fog bank approximately 2000 feet from the approach end of runway 13 and quickly became disoriented. The darkness, combined with the runway lights reflecting in the fog blinded the pilot and the aircraft veered off the left side of runway 13, crossed the intersecting runway 3/21 and came to rest after traveling approximately 2500 feet after departing the runway. The damage was limited to the landing gear, propeller, wing tip, pitot tube, and a flap hinge.

As the FAA filed it
