From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student pilot/owner s. marini was operating the aircraft. Pre-flight briefing had been given and CFI nikkari was in the right seat. Take off clearance was given, and at about 1,000 ft. durint t/o roll, a strong gust of wind caused the tail of the aircraft to yaw sharply to the left. Pilot marini overcompensated with rudder input, causing the aircraft to ground loop. No injuries were incurred, and minimal damage to the aircraft tail-wheel assembly. CFI nikkari immediately got with student marini, and thoroughly reviewed what happened, and procedures required to prevent a re-occurrence. Investigation closed.
