From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On the first touch and go landing the gear came down normally. The gear was raised and locked with positive indication. The gear handle was lowered and gear appeared to cycle down but the gear down light did not illuminate. Pilot informed tower and requested an area to troubleshoot malfunction. Airman flight school was notified and came up on 123.75 to assist in troubleshooting malfunction. Emergency checklist was gone through 4 or 5 times. Different ways were tried to lower gear. Tower fly-by confirmed left main was not down and locked. Decision was made to retract gear and do a gear up landing. Landing was uneventful. Aircraft sustained prop damage and lower fuselage damage from impacting the runway.
