From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that this was the first flight for his home built aircraft. Upon touchdown the nose gear collapsed. The aircraft sustained damage to it's fiberglass skin only. The pilot stated that the gear warning horn was located between his feet and with his headseton he did not hear a gear warning horn if it sounded. There is no gear warning light installed. The pilot stated that the reason the gear collapsed was that the clutch which he had intalled was not set stiff enough. An anonymous caller reported the incident on 11-08-03. The pilot responded to our inquiry on 11-26-03.
