From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) An airport employee observed N259M at 60 feet above the runway with landing gear retracted. The observer called ground control on his radio to report the aircraft landing with gear up. The air traffic control tower operator instructed N259M to go around, but the aircraft was in the process of touching down. The aircraft landed with gear retracted, skidded to a stop on the runway, and the pilot and one passenger exited the aircraft. There were no injuries, and no damage to runway lights. The aircraft, owned by the pilot, received only minor damage. The pilot stated to the airport employee that he had forgotten to put the landing gear down.

THE AIRCRAFT, OWNED BY THE PILOT, RECEIVED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE. THE PILOT STATED TO THE AIRPORT EMPLOYEE THAT HE HAD FORGOTTEN TO PUT THE LANDING GEAR DOWN.
