What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) After departure from the Santa Rosa airport aircraft leveled off, pilot felt a slight rough engine then a bang. Engine froze stopping the propeller, pilot dead sticked the aircraft into a muddy, wet, soft field causing damage to the fuselage and wings. This damage was caused by the landing gear sinking in the mud. Wings and tail section was removed from the aircraft to transport back to Santa Rosa airport. Cylinder #2 cracked and broke just below the skirt causing the engine to freeze. This cylinder was replaced in 1986 with a used chrome cylinder. Engine was overhauled on 05/20/1991, and number 2 cylinder was removed and re-sealed on 04/22/2003.
