From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While attempting to land on runway 03 at the Sussex Airport, the aircraft "ballooned" after the first touchdown. The pilot stated he pulled back hard on the yoke and felt the aircraft stall. He stated the aircraft landed hard on the nose. As a result, the nose landing gear collapsed, and the main gear hit hard enough to damage the main landing gear doors. The propeller struck the runway, and according to the pilot, the power was in the idle position. Weather was VMC, winds were light and variable, and there were no reported injuries.
