From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft N7923M was cleared for takeoff on runway 5. Runway 5 is 7214 feet in length at an elevation of 5140 MSL. Weather at the time of accident was clear, wind 090 @3KTS, and temperature of 6 degrees c. the takeoff roll consumed 5000 feet of runway and the aircraft was observed wallowing in ground effect at about 12 to 20 feet AGL. Credible witness statements stated that the engine did not seem to be developing full power. N7923M settled back to the ground past the threshold of runway 23 (opposite end of takeoff runway 5) at taxiway, became airborne again clearing airport perimeter fence, and impacted the ground hitting highway signs, other objects, and coming to rest with post impact fire.
