From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Landing on rwy 12R at north Las Vegas, NV airport (vgt), a/c nose wheel assy broke off strut assy and a/c slid down rwy coming to rest on nose strut and propeller. A/c propeller, engine and engine cowling and nose landing gear assy damaged. Pilot stated he increased landing/touchdown speeds by 15-20 KTS due to variable winds gusting 12-17 KTS as reported by tower. A/c ballooned after initial touchdown and on subsequent touchdown pilot stated nose fell thru and the propeller began contacting rwy. Pilot and passenger exited aircraft with no injuries. Visual inspection of nose strut assy indicates strut sheared/separated approx. 1-2 inches above nose gear fork assy attach point. Shear loads appear to exhibit a front to back/down and back shear force indicating aircraft nose tire made first contact with rwy. (Wheelbarrow landing).
