From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 4-19-04, pilot was on a straight in approach to runway 24 at Fullerton muni airport when he contacted an obstruction light with the left wing of the aircraft. The obstruction light was on top of a telephone pole in an adjacent rail yard at +22' AGL. The pilot stated there was a crosswind from the south so the left wing was lowered into the wind. At 250' prior to planned touchdown, the crosswind ceased momentarily and he contacted the obstruction light. The left wing impacted the light fixture removing it from the pole and tearing the fixture from the supporting conduit. The fixture was catapulted onto artesia ave and struck an automobile. Subsequent inspection of the aircraft revealed a 1'WX6"h dent with puncture on the left wing leading edge 1' in from the tip. The adjacent rib was dented, and the wing/rib bonding was compromised.
