From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft departed Dodge Center Airport and was observed last climbing through about 500 feet AGL. There were no witnesses to the loss of aircraft control or ground impact. Aircraft apparently turned out via a right crosswind with a planned departure to the north. Loss of control apparently occurred in the turn. Wreckage was about 300 feet to the right of the departure end of runway 16. The day was VFR, cool, with high winds and very gusty. Wind shear was forecast and also reported just south of the accident scene. Injuries were fatal so there will be no corrective action.
