From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft hit a telephone wire that was stretched across a canyon which broke his propeller. The pilot made an emergency landing on hwy 41 west bound. The pilot was transported to tri-city hospital with back pain. The pilot stated he was flying approximately 300 ft. above the ground and that the wires were not on any maps. The aircraft hit the wire with the propeller which broke 1 1/2 blades off causing a severe vibration. The pilot set the aircraft down on hwy 41. There was a large truck in front of the aircraft that was traveling very slow. In order to not run into the truck the pilot pulled back on the controls causing the aircraft to stall 15 to 20 feet above the ground. The fall to the pavement caused the landing gear to come off. The aircraft sustained damage to the propeller and landing gear. The aircraft did not come in contact with the truck.
