From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) An experimental aircraft lost engine power and force landed approximately 3 miles east of highway 99 near highway 152 outside the town of Tipton, CA. There was substantial damage to the right wing spar area and aileron assembly. The last known fuel stop was eloy, AZ (E60), which serviced approximately 53 gallons of jet a fuel. During the descent phase of flight at approximately 1000 feet, the aircraft experienced a hard left bank angle and shortly thereafter, lost engine power. According to the aircraft's electronic flight information system (EFIS) the last fuel totalizer reading was 29 gallons. The main fuel line to the engine was removed and it appeared to have evidence of fuel going to the engine. Further examination of the wreckage would take place on may 10, 2004.
