From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) This accident took place approximately 3 NM north of hobby field airport (77S). The glider was flying in a southerly direction toward 77S at approximately 100 feet AGL. The pilot initiated a left turn. During the turn the aircraft lost altitude and the left wing apparently made contact with the grass which was approximately 3 feet high. This caused the aircraft to nose over and impact the ground. The aircraft cartwheeled, broke apart and came to rest on a heading approximately 180 degrees from the direction of flight.
