What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Aircraft was being marshalled into gate A-50. The left wing walker was slightly late getting into his position. The aircraft was being directed into the gate as the left wing walker arrived driving a tug with baggage carts attached. In parking the tug/carts this wing walker did not notice he was inside the wing perimeter for clearance. During the marshalling process the left wing walker recognized the impending contact and was attempting to gain the attention of the lead marshaller, but was unable to do so. The aircraft made contact with a parked baggage cart against the left wing slat. Damage caused was minor, however necessitated the replacement of the leading edge slat for repair.
