From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft battery failed to start the aircraft. Pilot attempted to charge battery unsuccessfully. Pilot then jump started the aircraft successfully and failed to remove the tow bar after engine start. Pilot was informed by the dvt tower after takeoff that the tow bar was attached to the nose gear. Aircraft returned and landed at dvt. Upon landing, the tow bar struck the propeller causing a nick in the propeller. An attempt was made to repair the propeller, but the propeller was found to be out of limits after the repair.
