From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During takeoff on runway 24 at Hollister airport N6797Y became airborne, turned left and subsequently struck the ground flat under partial or full power. Ground markings showed the aircraft's ground path to be approximately forty-five degrees from the departure runway. Pilot stated the aircraft prematurely rotated causing stall warning indications and rolled left. Pilot attempted to correct stall condition by applying forward pressure and the roll condition by reducing power. Pilot temporarily gained control and reestablished full power. Aircraft again rolled left. Pilot decided to reduce power and ditch the aircraft. Trim was set at 5 units nose up (gree trim arc ranges from 0 to 6).
