From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At approximately 1030 EST on Tuesday 22 June 2004, pilot shot a visual approach to runway 22 at Georgetown (ged) de, on touch down roll the landing gear collapsed. The aircraft rolled (wheels are exposed) approximately 100 feet before stopping, the prop blades struck the ground (wooden prop) and both inboard flaps trailing edges were damaged. There was no injuries. Pilots written statement indicates that the gear indicated down and locked and that he'd moved the safety slide lock across gear handle mechanism. Upon recovery, mechanic indicates that m/lg handle was not in the full down position (handle not fully engaged in the gear down detent). During an interview with phl FSDO asi's on 07/15/04, Mr. Cook stated that he might not have checked to see that the three green lights were illuminated after he lowered the landing during the approach phase of the landing.

THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED (WHEELS ARE EXPOSED) APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET BEFORE STOPPING, THE PROP BLADES STRUCK THE GROUND (WOODEN PROP) AND BOTH INBOARD FLAPS TRAILING EDGES WERE DAMAGED.
