From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot was in the landing phase of flight at the Maverick county memorial airport (5T9), when he noiticed an unannounced pickup approach the runway. According to the pilot in command, the pickup continued directly toward the runway before turning to parallel and proceeding on the shoulder outside of the runway edge lights. The PIC stated he started a go-around and simultaneously turned right to avoid a flock of birds directly in front of his flight path. The right main gear tire struck the roof of the pickup during the go-around maneuver. The airplane continued the go-around and re-entered the traffic pattern for a landing.
