From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While performing touch & go landings @ dvt, engine lost power during take-off @ approximately 200' AGL. Landed at the end of runway 25 with the landing gear either intransit or the landing gear was down and the right main and nose gears collapsed. The left main gear was down and locked. Aircraft left the end of the runway sustained minor damage to the right wing leading edge, wing tip and bottom skin. Subsequent engine run-up with a replacement propeller could not duplicate power loss problem. Flight school maintenance department suspects a possible vapor lock in the fuel system. Engine has been removed for overhaul due to the propeller strike and high time on engine.
