What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Pilot/owner of this aircraft was conducting a taxi-test to evaluate recent installation of a speed brake system on the aircraft. There was no intent to fly. Pilot lost directional control while taxiing on runway 32 at an approximate speed of 40-45 mph. The new speed brake system had not yet been activated. Although the tail was down and directional control was re-established on a track parallel with the runway centerline, the aircraft hit a distance marker on the left side of the runway. (The distance marker indicated 3000 feet of runway remaining, according to the pilot). The aircraft then left the runway and turned upside down. The pilot/owner said the aircraft is destroyed. No further action taken. Unable to obtain injury summary from ASI.
