From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft, a Cessna 180, was cleared to taxi to edwards jet center at Billings-Logan international airport (bil) in Billings, Montana. It taxied behind a federal express 727 under power. The aircraft was lifted off the taxiway, slammed down, and ground-looped. The B-727 cargo ramp is situated so as to allow jet blast to cross active runway. The CE-180 pilot was not advised by air traffic control of the running jet on the ramp, nor could he detect that the engines were running. privacy data omitted
