From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 08/05/04 at 2047 local, N706SA reported it sustained a bird strike while landing on rwy 2 at Concord Regional Airport (jqf), Concord, NC. In his written statement, PIC stated at 50 feet above the rwy, just as he was bringing the power back and starting to flare, a flock of geese flew across the runway from left to right at their altitude resulting into numerous bird strikes. SIC stated they immediately started getting an engine vibration while the PIC continued the landing, which was uneventful. Post flight inspection showed that the left engine had ingested a large bird. Aircraft damage included numerous fan blades, temp probe, exhaust, and fuselage adjacent to the engine and on top of the left wing under the engine intake. There was also minor damage on the top upper center of the left flap, leading edge of the right and left wings at mid point, left delta fin and vertical stabilizer just under the recognition light. During the runway inspection, 7 dead geese (mother and 6 little ones) were found on the runway about 300 feet down from the approach end.
