From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student pilot was practicing for his private pilot check ride. He had completed a number of take offs and landings with his instructor in the morning and his instructor released him for solo flight. He was attempting a short field takeoff. The student pilot stated that the aircraft was hit by a gust of wind and became airborne. Before he could do anything the airplane stalled and hit the runway. The propeller also hit the runway. The student pilot aborted the take off. There was no other damage to the aircraft. The flight instructor believes the aircraft became airborne as it was low on fuel and had only the student pilot in the aircraft.
