From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The #2 engine had a fire while taxiing into the gate with fire light illuminated and fire bell. The #2 engine was shutdown and the left engine fire bottle was discharged. The firelight extinguished and EGT and all other engine parameters went back to normal. (Note: both fire loops went full scale to high). Evidence of a hydraulic leak can be seen on the inboard side of the engine coming down from the horizontal firewall disconnects. Extensive coking from the fire was found on the inboard side of the engine, predominantly in the area of the raceway where the hydraulic lines run down to the engine driven hydraulic pump. The #2 engine inboard side cowl had coking damage as well from the fire. The #2 hydraulic system was flagged for excessive servicing, 17 quarts were added in the last 11 days. On 08/24/2004 in hong kong, maintenance re-torqued an engine driven pump supply line in the firewall disconnect area. Maintenance removed and replaced the #2 engine. All items documented on nwaa paperwork. Log entry made on page# 1059027.
