From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N732TE was enroute from bullfrog bay (lake powell) to cos with a private pilot and 4 passengers on board. The first 30 minutes was flown on the left tank after which the right tank was selected and operated for 1 hour until it ran dry. The selector was then moved to the left tank 10 miles w of monarch pass. Approximately 10-15 minutes later the engine lost power over the Salida airport at 13,500 MSL. Fuel pressure went to zero and attempts to restart using the low and high boost pump associated emergency procedures were unsuccessful. The pilot attempted an emergency landing at the Salida airport (0V2). When he turned final for runway 24 he lost sight of the runway due to the afternoon sun glare in his eyes. The pilot saw a field to his right (north) and executed an emergency landing in the field. On touchdown the aircraft hit several irrigation ditches, a barbed wire fence and post causing substantial damage. There were no injuries.
