From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot performed an emergency landing into Pittsburgh international airport after substantial hydraulic pressure drop. During inspection of the aircraft by maintenance personnel, hydraulic fluid was found covering the left engine cowling and firewalls. The titanium hydraulic pressure line was found to be chafed through. Maintenance personnel determined that the pressure line was rubbing against the hydraulic supply line. Maintenance personnel replaced the hydraulic pump, Lear part number 6629101000-001 and hydraulic supply line part number 4529101089-001, as well as the hydraulic pressure line as a precautionary measure. Aircraft was returned to service. The flight crew's actions or lack of actions did not contribute to this incident. This closes the investigation of this incident and no further action is required from this office.
