From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Evergreen aviation maintenance crew was in the process of pushing the aircraft away from the gate and the #1 engine was struck on the left side by a FMC (cargo) loader causing minor damage to the engine noise cowl, fan cowl, thrust reverser and exhaust nozzle. The FMC (cargo) loader was parked within 25FT of the aircraft and was not seen by the toe tractor operator nor the push-back assistant or communications person prior to push-back. By the time the push-back assistant noticed the loader in the red zone, it was too late, the damage had already occurred. The aircraft was loaded with 301 passenger, there were no injuries. Aircraft was taken out of revenue service.
