From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot statement as follows: incident took place at Marine City Airport in Marine City, Michigan. privacy data omitted Was the pilot in command of aircraft N316MA. Coming in for a full stop to refuel the diamond aircraft with the intentions to return to its home base of louisville Kentucky, bowman field. The cause of the accident was that the pilot privacy data omitted landed with the wind. It was not the airport nor the aircraft's fault. The pilot privacy data omitted stated "it was a mental error to the fault of my own. I landed on the runway and it appeared to be with enough distance to stop. I had all three wheels of the landing gear on the ground and was slowing down moderately. The tailwind was in fact why I went off the end, into the grass which was moist. I then lost my front nose gear and prop due to very moist ground." See attached for actual statement.
