From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On December 12, 2004 privacy data omitted rented N128PC from northampton aeronautics inc. located at the 7B2 airport for a short cross-country flight to Southbridge airport, 3B0. Prior to takeoff from northampton airport the pilot failed to reset the altimeter to field elevation, or a local altimeter setting. The pilot statement indicates that the altimeter was probably indicating the field elevation, plus, 1,000 feet. Upon arrival at Southbridge, the pilot states that he entered the traffic pattern to low, and at too hig an airspeed. The result was a landing too FAR down the runway. This resulted in running off the departure end of runway 20 and damaging two threshold lights, as well as putting a dent in the lower portion of the right wings leading edge. The pilot then inspected the damage, and decided that it was minor, and elected to fly back to northampton. He also states that in retrospect this was not a good idea, as there could have been other possible damage that he could not detect.

As the FAA filed it

(-23) ON DECEMBER 12, 2004 ^PRIVACY DAT^ RENTED N128PC FROM NORTHAMPTON AERONAUTICS INC.
