From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot stated that the aircraft veered hard to the right on landing. He then applied full power, but lost control and went through a ditch causing the landing gear to shear off. Further investigation revealed that the propeller hit hard and lost about 8" inches on one side. The underbelly was severly damaged as well as the wing struts. Continuity of the flight controls could not be determined due to the damage of the undercarriage. However the pilot stated that the flight controls were operational before the accident. The pilot stated that the rear passenger may have been on the right heel brake which caused the aircraft to veer off the runway.
