From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot reported that the circuit breaker for the engine ignition system had popped. Reset circuit breaker and ten seconds later it had popped again. Pilot also stated that he observed rainwater entering the cockpit and instrument panel area around the magneto switches and electronic ignition circuit breaker. He felt that the source of ignition failure was due to the shorting of the magneto switch from the rainwater. At this time it cannot be determined whether or not the seal around the cockpit shield failed. Unable to get a hold of owner to verify. Will amend if necessary when more information is provided.
