From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 01/13/05 at 20:00 hours during aircraft taxi for departure the right hand main landing gear tires departed from the #3 & #4 main landing gear wheel hub assemblies of a Hawker-800XP, N305SC. According to the pilot and aircraft flight records the aircraft had just completed a less than 1 hour flight from van nuys, CA to Oakland, CA. The pilot reported that the aircraft landing into Oakland was smooth and the aircraft was within 400 lbs of its maximum landing weight. Pilot reported no observable discrepancies when he performed a walk around preflight inspection of the aircraft shortly before an attempted departure later that evening. Maintenance records revealed that the aircraft #3 & #4 right hand, main landing gear wheels had undergone tire changes earlier that day. Both failed wheel assemblies, one recovered tire, and hardware were sent to the aircraft manufacturer Raytheon aircraft for metallurgical analysis under the supervision of the wichita aco ACE-116W. The metallurgical analysis concluded that 19 if not all of the 24 flange attach nuts were under torqued. The under torqued nuts appeared to have worked themselves free resulting in the departure of both tires from theaircraft.

As the FAA filed it
