From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Uala B-747, N118UA enroute to tokyo japan from gate C18, was taxiing to 32L when the #4 engine struck a city vehicle parked at A12. Two electricians were working on the taxiway lights and were out of the vehicle. No injuries reported. The driver of the city vehicle did not contact FAA or city ops tower that they were working on taxiway lights at A12. Both occupants were out of the vehicle and could not yield to approaching aircraft.
