From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Delta flight 990 landed at Port Columbus International Airport at 2119 local time. At 2114 hours the weather was 1600' broken, 2200' overcast, 2 miles visibility, light rain with mist and the winds were 210 at 3 knots. At about 100' AGL, the aircraft began to drift to the right. I called for a correction to the left." The aircraft approach path became unstable below 50' AGL going substantially above and below the glide slope. The aircraft initially touched the runway beyond the 3,000' marker with the left main gear about 20' left of the right side of the runway. The right gear followed, momentarily touching the runway edge. The aircraft floated for about 800' and then touched down just off the runway. The aircraft arced back to the runway about the 5000' point. The maximum the left main gear exited the runway was approximately 5'.
