From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While on a VFR part 91 repositioning flight, the pilot encountered IFR conditions (fast moving snow squalls) which prevented him from continuing to his destination. While remaining in VFR conditions, the pilot attempted to divert to 2 different airports, both of which whose weather deteriorated to IMC before he could land. The pilot the elected to land on a Private, unmaintained airstrip in excursion inlet, AK. The strip was snow covered, and upon roll-out the wheels settled into the snow, causing the airplane to rise up on its nose gear, striking the propeller and cracking a wing tip before coming to rest on its main gear. Minor damage to the aircraft and no injuries to the pilot (sole occupant).
