From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was landing runway 13 at Livingston County Airport (ozw), with crosswind of 14 knots gusting to 25 knots. After 3 point landing, during rollout, aircraft passed corporate hangar on east side of runway. Wind lessened as aircraft passed hangar, and as aircraft cleared the hangar, it was hit by wind gust that caused the aircraft to drift to the left. The aircraft left main landing gear left the runway and hit soft sod. The aircraft nose went down, the prop struck the ground, and the tail of the aircraft came up, then the aircraft flipped over. Pilot suffered a cracked vertebrae in his neck, passenger obtained minor cuts and bruises. Both were taken by EMS to local hospital. Aircraft sustained substantial damage to both elevators, vertical stabilizer cap, minor damage to right wingtip, and a crushed canopy. Engine took ground strike through propeller.
