The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) On April 9, 2005 at 12:45 MST, pilot privacy data omitted landed N23RD, a Piper PA-30, gear up at Seligman, Arizona airport (P23), and subsequently slid off the left side of runway 22, striking a runway light, and causing substantial damage to the airplane. There were no injuries to the pilot and one passenger. Pilot intended to land at prescott, Arizona (prc), but diverted to Seligman, AZ, because of deteriorating weather. Upon entering the pattern, pilot selected gear down but did not get a green light. He circled the airport and made additional attempts to extend the landing gear. Pilot spoke to a local resident on UNICOM frequency, who was able to see the airplane, and confirmed the landing gear was not extended. Pilot opted to land gear up, rather than make further attempts at gear extension, because of weather closing in.
