From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On Monday April 17, 2005 N6968, a Bell aircobra was attempting to land a T82, Gillespie County Airport, Fredricksburg Texas. The aircraft touched down at about 600 feet from the approach end of rwy 14 slightly to the right side of the runway. At approximately 1400 feet it veered to the right, departed the runway with the right main and the nose gear leaving only the left main on the asphalt. It contacted two runway lights and at 2000 feet it veered slightly left and managed to get all except the right main back onto the pavement. It remained in this position until the 3000 foot area at which time it departed the runway to the right. It continued across the grass, went between the runway and the PAPI lights, down an embankment and came to rest in a deer fence (perimeter fence). This is approximately 200 feet beyond the end of runway 14-32 and 300 feet to the right side of the runway. The aircraft sustained damage to the nose gear doors, right wing tip, left wing root fairing, left horizontal stabilizer, and the right side of the fuselage. The right wingtip struck the fence first, spinning the aircraft around to the right and sending the aircraft through the fence.
