From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On April 23, 2005 at approximately 0845 hours, Cessna CE-172N, N4945D, s/n 17272407, took off from dallas executive airport (rbd) and had climbed to approximately 1500 feet altitude. The pilot privacy data omitted reported to rbd tower that he had lost engine power and was being forced to land approximately 2 miles west of the airport. The tower told him to try to return to the airport but the pilot said that he did not have enough altitude to make it back and was going to land there. The pilot then turned in to a northerly heading lining up on a section of empty field parallel to and just west of north main street in Duncanville, Texas. The automobiles on the street saw that the aircraft was in trouble and stopped to allow the aircraft to land. The pilot saw this and decided to land on the street instead. The aircraft landed on north main street without causing any damage to the aircraft or property and without any injuries. The aircraft taxied without power into a parking lot at privacy data omitted and stopped.
