From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N402FE, A310, was being operated as federal express flight 1475 from memphis, TN, to Omaha, NE. At FL340 the crew received a fluid low level alert, indicating that the green hydraulic system had a loss of fluid. The crew shut off the green hydraulic system and declared an emergency. The landing gear was lowered manually and the aircraft landed without further problems. The aircraft was towed to the ramp because the aircraft had lost nose wheel steering (part of the green system). Company mechanics found that the high pressure line was leaking where the fitting attached to the green system hydraulic manifold in the center main wheel well. The o ring was damaged allowing fluid to pass.
