From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On Friday, may 27, airman privacy data omitted was doing proficiency landings in a pitts special at the Livermore airport at approximately 8:00 am. After five landings, airman ^priva^ made a full stop landing on runway 25R. In a telephone conversation with the pilot privacy data omitted he stated that "I slowed to what I thought to be proper to exit at the 25R delta taxiway." The pilot privacy data omitted further asserted that he was in the process of obtaining a taxi clearance while making the turn from the active runway to taxiway delta." At this point, the aircraft tail started to swing around in a ground loop. The aircraft struck the left wing and left landing gear. The airman in a written statement stated that he applied brakes as the aircraft wing started to tip toward the surface. He indicated thas his sudden brake pressure caused the aircraft to come up and strike the propeller and resulting in the aircraft resting on its nose.
