From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 10, 2005, at approximately 1125 am, N530XJ, a bae avro-146-RJ85A experienced a hydraulic failure of a green system high pressure line. N530XJ was reported to have landed and was breaking for a turn onto taxiway golf when the crew indicated they heard a loud noise and there was a master caution indicating a green system hydraulic loss of pressure. The failure occurred behind the overhead baggage bins on the right-hand side of the aircraft in the passenger compartment. The passengers from seat 2 in first class to seat 9 in the cabin were sprayed with hydraulic fluid. It is estimated that 19 passengers were sprayed by the hydraulic fluid. The cabin atmosphere was also contaminated by the high pressure mist. This may be the 4th occurrence of this happening on this model aircraft. Mesaba is the only operator of this aircraft in the united states. It is believed this is the first time passengers were sprayed by the leaking fluid. An emergency evacuation was initiated. After removal of the aircraft interior it was noted that the green hydraulic high-pressure line had failed in one of the bends. The failure occurred on the side of the radius not in the radius of the bend.

As the FAA filed it
