From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot was cleared to land runway 15 (btv). Pilot indicated approach and landing were normal. As the aircraft decelerated on the runway it drifted to the right side. As the pilot applied full left rudder with no effect the aircraft left the runway. The lefthand brake was applied and brought the aircraft back towards the runway. By the time the aircraft got back on the runway, the pilot tried to taxi and could not turn either way. Aircraft was pushed clear of the runway. Upon inspection of the tailwheel, it was discovered that the tailwheel spring clip had failed. No further damage reported.
