From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The experimental aircraft was being operated during the first phase of the flight operation in accordance with the operating limitations. It landed on runway 06 at the Northeast airport (kpne), near Philadelphia, PA. The main gear inadvertently retracted because of a down lock "I" beam supports twisting allowing the down lock pins to disengage from the landing gear brackets, thusly allowing the three-quarter main gear to retract. The engine was at idle, however because of the low profile of the aircraft the wooden propeller struck the pavement breaking both blades. The lower engine cowling, the ends of the exhaust risers, the throttle control sustained minor damage. The bottom of the fuselage and the bottom of the wings, except for the area adjacent to the wheel wells did not sustain any damage. The area around the wheel well sustained minor fiberglass damage. This matter is considered closed.

As the FAA filed it
