From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During the landing flare on runway 9, at the Space coast regional airport, the pilot experienced a trim runaway in the pitch-up mode. The pilot over controlled the aircraft and pitched down severely, causing a hard impact on the nose gear. The nose gear broke and twisted 90 degrees. The aircraft bounced back into the air and then struck the runway again where it slid another 30 feet before the nose wheel separated from the aircraft. The pilot then steered the aircraft off to the right side of the runway.
