From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On July 30, 2005 a yak 52, N808TD had made a normal landing on runway 27 at Oshkosh, WI. Due to a mechanical design flaw in the russian Aerostar sa landing gear linkage, whereby the over-center linkage was allowed to go beyond it's over-center fixed stop. The design will be submittted back to the manufacturer for re-modification to make the connecting linkage out of a material of greater strength by the owner's maintenance department. There were no injuries, and the wingtip slid along the ground for almost 20 ft, after the left gear linkage failed, and the nose rose up into the air destroying the wooden propeller.
