From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft departed runway 20 at springfield, Missouri (sgf), enroute to Bird field (2MO1), approximately 5 miles nw of sgf. The surface winds at sgf were light and variable, so the pilot elected to cross mid-field and enter a left downwind for a landing to the north at 2MO1. Final approach was flown at 80 mph with 2 notches of flaps. The aircraft touched down within the first third of the runway, but the pilot decided to go-around. After initiating the go-around, the pilot decided the airplane would not clear the power lines so he aborted the takeoff. The aircraft overran the runway and hit a utility pole which severed the right wing causing the airplane to flip over. privacy data omitted
